BigDataGrapes 6th Project Meeting (4-5 November 2020)

The 6th Project Meeting of the BigDataGrapes project was successfully organized virtually on 4th and 5th of November 2020. BigDataGrapes aims to support European companies in the wine and natural cosmetics industries in order to respond to the significant opportunity that big data is creating in their relevant markets, by pursuing two ambitious goals:

  • To develop and demonstrate powerful, rigorously tested, cross-sector data processing technologies that go beyond the-state-of-the-art towards increasing the efficiency of companies that need to take important business decisions dependent on access to vast and complex amounts of data, and assess them in challenges informed by the grapevine powered industries.
  • To create a large-scale, multifaceted marketplace for grapevine-related data assets, increasing the competitive advantage of companies that serve with IT solutions these sectors and helping companies and organizations evolve methods, standards and processes to help them achieve free, interoperable and secure flow of their data.

Particularly, 9 partners from 6 European countries participated in the meeting, aiming to prioritize the last steps based on the five fully fledged pilots and their results and feedback, the successful completion of the project will be built on. The pilots are:

  1. Table and Wine Grapes
  2. Wine Making
  3. Farm Management
  4. Natural Cosmetics
  5. Food Protection

We would like to thank everyone who participated in the meeting and we are looking forward to the next steps.
